2. Data We Collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

3. How We Use Your Data

We use your personal data to:

  • Provide and improve the TailoredResHub service
  • Generate AI-tailored resumes and cover letters using the profile information you provide
  • Authenticate your identity and protect your account
  • Send transactional emails (account verification, password reset) — not marketing
  • Diagnose technical issues and monitor service health
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your data to train AI models, sell to advertisers, or share with data brokers.

4. AI Processing

When you generate a resume, your profile data is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to produce tailored content. This processing occurs under Anthropic's data processing agreement with us. Anthropic does not use your data to train their models.

Uploaded resume files are parsed by our AI extraction pipeline and then permanently deleted from temporary storage. We do not retain uploaded file content beyond what is stored in your profile.

5. Data Sharing

We only share your data with:

  • Anthropic — our AI provider, under a data processing agreement, solely to generate resume content
  • Google — if you choose to sign in with Google, your name and email are shared between Google and us for authentication only
  • Hosting Infrastructure — our servers and database providers, who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations
  • Law enforcement — only where required by law or to protect the safety of users

We never sell, rent or trade your personal data to third parties for commercial purposes.

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all associated data — including projects, resumes, and profile information — is permanently and irreversibly deleted within 30 days.

Anonymised usage statistics (no personal identifiers) may be retained indefinitely for service improvement purposes.

7. Cookies

We use minimal cookies necessary to operate the service:

  • Session cookie — keeps you logged in during your visit. Expires when you close your browser or log out.
  • CSRF token — protects against cross-site request forgery attacks. Required for security.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies.

8. Your Rights

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access
Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
Correction
Update or correct any inaccurate information in your profile or account settings.
Deletion
Delete your account and all associated data from your Profile page at any time.
Portability
Request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.
Objection
Object to processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests as our legal basis.
Restriction
Request that we restrict processing of your data in certain circumstances.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including:

  • HTTPS encryption for all data in transit
  • Hashed and salted password storage (we never store plain-text passwords)
  • CSRF protection on all forms
  • Regular security reviews of our codebase and infrastructure

10. Children's Privacy

TailoredResHub is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by displaying a prominent notice in the Service. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
